Japa Yagna

i never attend any spiritual camps and meditation camps coz i always feel my guru words are more sufficient for me and his words are still remain fresh in my mind. i even ask some of my friendswho attend those camps while they give some details i never found anything new thats the power of guru words. last week i went to chennai for my sister's academic purpose there in the math/mission i found a notice about japa yana. i thought of attenting it coz it was mentined as only for those who got initiation in the math. so i registered and went.

this was the routine 6:30am to 8:00 am chanting japa then 8:00 to 8:30 am break fast ,from 8:30 to 10 am again japam ,10:00 to10:30 bajan (singing the glory of god ), 10:30 to 11:00 maharaj speech on the importance of JAPA. again from 11:00 to 1:00 pm japam.

japam is repeating the name of the god(the mantra which our guru gives us ) ok,

what is the use of japam? why mission took such a effort to insist on japam? bhagavan ramakrishnar told " japam is like clapping the hands under the tree by hearing the sound all the birds flyaway from the tree. similarly repetead practice of japam will clear our sins.it is there in all the religions christianity has rosary muslim has japam beads and of course ohm mane badme hum :).

10:30 to 11:00 maharaj speech japam

you never seen someone for many years and suddenly if you hear his voice or his name you will remember his face and characters. who is doing this? the brain particularly the neuron receptors. by hearing the name it traces the figure and characteristics of the person.this happens in the un consious level similarly japam will bring the divine force to us by constantly repeating the gods name. he beautifully came to next step by saying this is possible with the person whom you never spoke. for instance i am(maharaj) speaking to you all and you people never give reply but still my mind neurons receiving signals from you all. then he told lot of stages to ultimate level and first stage is japam second meditation and third bhavana (feeling it by heart).japam will mould our personality to great then he quoted from upanishad and thirukkural. finally he prayed for us and he silently left the room.

personally and honestly i felt nothing is new but i loved and enjoyed the way maharaj illustrated with his personal experiences. he too acknowleded as i am not going to say anything new but only i am going to remind you all" .awesomest word. coz they know ,when we sincerely practise japa and meditation all the above stuffs we will come to know by experiencing it.

then, i found many people using japa mala (rosary) i dont have one. i remember my guru told after crossing 5 years of initiation we can use rosary. though i crossed i still dont have one. when i felt about that suddenly i remembered gurukulam maharaj words.he always comment ramakrishnar as poor farmer. just i saw gurudev photo and felt very happy.each and every moment in the prayer hall i remembered my guru swami atmasthananda maharaj. coz he gave me life. after reaching his feet only i aspired to be a human(my brother knows me well).

over all it was a nice experience with insights.

MY GURU IS MY MEDICINE- AGAVAL

over all it was a nice experience

THEE MIDITHAL - WALKING OVER THE FIRE

this friday (3-9-10) morning i had a plan of going to telephone exchange regarding internet connection, but i slept till 10:30 am. so i thought of sending my father, he too bit delayed it. later on i myself went and as usual they gave explanation & me too came with that explanation. after coming home just indirectly i scolded my father, there started the verbal fight which develped into verbal abuse. as usual i gave some explanation to my mom and i went to bed. around 12:00pm my father woke me and told about his village agni festival. since it is about god i accepted. me my father and my mom went to village agni festival.
wow! what a temple and festival it was awesome!. the highlight is AGNI.first time i had seen the agni. this festival is sort of tribal form of worship.
agni is the festival where the people walk over the red hot burning charcoals.the distance will be 20to 30 ft (might be less) and following the fire pit there was stagnant water.100's of people walked over the fire(agni).i was amazed by just few peoples. the first person who entered into the fire was with pot covered with cocunut and mango leaves.this person was walking over the fire as if he was walking on the road. that was amazing ! few young girls they too were walking!
the men and the women in the middle age were jumping and hoping to reach the water pit.three group of people i found really awesome 1. young unmarried girls. 2. the father's who had their kids over their shoulder and 3.old peoples. these three peoples were just walking over the fire without any hast. when i asked my mom about it,she told those three were sincere in that 18 days fasting/penance. actually those 18 days are to prepare their body and mind to cross the fire pit. there were incidents of minor accidents (mostly middle age peoples) those people failed to focus themselves. brain takes 3 seconds to react to the hot objects but those people took an average of 10 to 15 sec. ????? on the whole day i was thinking about this. the deity is pachai amman ( green mother) and male deity is veeran (a hero). the priest were singing songs with very different strokes with one silambu(made of brass which gives jal jal sound) in their hands. after so many years i literally enjoyed the real festival . in the night i was discussing about the village with my father.
