RECENTLY iam facinated by how village gods of tamilnadu is getting fabrication in hinduism. we are hero worshippers and we always tend to relate/identify our god with ourselves. now for the past few years new fabrication is taking place in village communities. our gods reflects our apperances and our life style. for instance we offer ciroot, liquor and first invitation of marraiges are pasted in his permises. the feast are usually non-veg mostly pork or mutton. again the food served first to him and then peple will have their feast.so its like everything is surrounded by our god as central axis. now new things are happening that many are may not aware. JUST CAREFULLY OBSERVE THE FOUR PHOTOS.
1) the first photo is our clan deity called veeran, see his face and body and dress.similar way look at other statues too.
2) come to the last statue(unpainted one) and see the difference.
now i was shocked and bit worried abut our culture after seeing the last statue. iam not going to blame anyone but only to record. the last statue has poonool( sacred thread) that only brahmins have. why we hesitate to identitfy ourselves with hindu god is this poonool(sacred thread). the hindu god is wearing poonol and the priest alone wearing the poonool, and others are out. whereas so far our village gods are eactly like us. they eat like what we eat,and drink what we drink. so i had very proximity towards our village gods. the last statue shows the infiltration of hinduism into our practises.compare the first staue and the last one which as 25 and above years old. the first statue is pleasant and really giving godly look and sitting with magiesty,but the last statue gives a demonic look with exactly dravidian appearances that temple archietect use to make demons statue over the temple vimana. since it is our GOD he embedded poonool for him too. now whether the village couldnt able to find the old statue cnstructors or the skilled people vanished in time. which made the village people to rely on this temple archietects. u might feel why he is so obssesed with poonool( sacred thread)? a christian is alowed to wear all his religious symbols similarly islam higly advocating everyone to have thier religious symbols and buddhism too. if so, then why hinduism is not allowing everyone to have poonool.?
when i spoke to my grandfather and few friends about this new issues. everyone asked me the same question "why u r taking it so seriously?" my grandfather told it's just a design. but i feel this another attempt to take away our last assest,our god. small example. lord muruan was actually a tribal god his only concert is valli a tribal chieftain daughter. later on the marriage of deivanai and murugan clearly says about the aryan and dravidian fabrication because deivanai was deva gula lady(lady of deva chieftains). another one example is VILLUDAIYANPATTU village near neyveli township. this is the only murugan temple in the world where lord murugan has villu(bow and arrow) as weapons, which belongs to hunters. in another places he has spear(vel) which needs accuracy in throwing while running, means more learned period of tribals(later vedic period). now this tribal temple cmpletely changed into hindu temple.
this happened in satya gana sabai too, they even started to do rituals which vallalar is against. there were complaints that the priest even placed a small lingam and worshiped it insted of the divine light. then by our CM intervention it was restored to older practises.
the civilization dies when the group loses its language and culture.
