BELIEF AND THE QUESTION OF WHO WE ARE?

In a village there was no rain for about couple of years ,so the council plan to conduct ritual ceremony to please the nature in order to get rain ,all the village people were invited to that ritual ceremony.everybody went with fruits ,flowers,milk ...,there was only a small child went with one hand full of flowers and UMBRELLA on the other hand.this is called belief.
The child believed that after the ceremony there was going to be rain, coz the ritual was contucted to get rain .so he believed that after this ritual there's going to be rain.of course god was pleased by the child strong belief and there was a heavy pour . The above story my father told to me:(nallar oruver ulare avar poruttu ellarkkum peyyum mazhai-thirukkural).if one good soul lives in a place for his good deeds we will get rain this is what the kural says.i think IIT Bombay is having lot of good souls..
many times i tried to disprove my father's belief and words,everything was in vain.For instance in my school after 6th std we were allowed to use pen that too only ink pen,so i asked my father Hero pen ,it was sunday evening ,he told 4:30 pm to 6:00pm was rahu kala(m) after 6 u can get it.i was so urging&crying ,he gave 50 rs and told" get it".i got the pen and i was so happy ,believe it or not ,i was not able to have that pen for single day.the pen got slipped from my hand and it fallen in vertical position the nib and the cork got damaged.it could be my mistake,but why the pen had to fall vertical (?) why not in horizontal so that i could have picked it and used it carefully?.
These small beliefs made an individual to tame his mind i believe,it gives patience, faith in the words of elders etc.. .In this modern world everything is fast track ,fast food ,fast love etc..no time to stand and listen to others .these fast life makes us irrestitible towards diseases and stress.we have best doctors ,best engineers ,best entreprenues in india all their numbers are increasing ,but unfortunately the best humans number has been decreasing.without love and sincere care we are merely trained monkeys.what is the point in living as a performing monkeys and trained dogs?(sorry, dog is known for fidelity)THE HUMANE touch is missing in our actions.but things are changing ,some students are collecting dresses from the hostel mates for the orphan students ,it's really a welcoming sign. but mere old cloth is not enough for the poor they were left far behind in the process of development ,we should really think about "The Idea of giving back".its like a middle class father spending all his earnings over a single son or daughter thinking that he/she will take care of the rest of the family after coming up.similarly india is doing with the elite institutions. This expectation of india will get destroyed if we are lacking in humane attitude.
